Welcome to Market Insights.

In this edition, online insurance house Coverfox warns us against getting too late to buy health insurance. But before that, Nooresh Merani expresses concerns over the fact that IndiaVIX is now at 28-30 levels as well as with a near term expiry it did not spike as much like the CBOE Vix, and recommends a strategy to adjust to the situation. We also have HDFC Sec recommending to sell Karnataka Bank and LIC Housing Finance while SMC recommending to buy Gateway Distriparks and Titan. Lastly, we have Firstcall recommending Cadila Healthcare for mid- to long-term investments. As usual, we also have a technical query answered by our experts in the 'Ask an Expert' section.

Fear at a 10 year High - India Vix/Nifty and CBOE Vix/Dow Jones signals major bottoming out

According to Nooresh Merani, if you are invested just stick on and get all the fresh cash allocations to equity. If you are on cash it would have hurt for some time with stocks going crazy in last 3-4 months. Your investment would also be down. So it would only be a psychological help to be on cash but if it does not get deployed at right times the cycle will continue.

Monthly Technical Stock Picks
According to HDFC Sec, Karnataka Bank has been showing rising bottoms from near the upper end of the triangle. This is indicating a formation of type of bearish H&S pattern, bearing a neck line, which was breached during this month. Meanwhile, LIC Housing Finance is witnessing a formation of double top type pattern leading to signals that the bullish sequence of higher tops and bottoms could be broken for near term.

Similarly, Titan Company dropped from its peak, rebounded back from 314 levels, and every week it tried to hold its upward journey with volumes.
