Welcome to Market Insights.

In this edition, we have Pankaaj Maalde describing ICICI Prudential Balanced Advantage Fund as a hybrid fund to beat the volatility. But before that, Firstcall Equity India are taking the opportunity to analyse Q4FY15 results of Abbott India and recommend the scrip for mid- to long-term investments while Justocks.com are recommending Pokarna for the month. We also have Motilal Oswal updating us on their interaction with Mr. Anil Jain, MD of Jain Irrigation. Lastly, we have Way2wealth recommending us to 'buy' futures in HDFC and Dr Reddy's but to 'sell' futures in Hindustan Zinc. As usual, we also have a technical query answered by our experts in the 'Ask an Expert' section.

Buy Jain Irrigation: Management confident of 10%-15% growth

Motilal Oswal met Mr. Anil Jain, MD of Jain Irrigation, who reaffirmed the view that the government's announcement to spend INR500b under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana over the next five years would benefit the company. Motilal Oswal thereby maintain 'buy' on the company.

Pick of the Month: Pokarna - In a strong uptrend
According to Justocks.com, Pokarna has been in strong uptrend till last October, and has been still growing rapidly even in the weak market. While the company's technical indicators are supporting for mid-term timeframe; it is trading with market cap of Rs.664 crores at current quarter valuation, which is expected to grow at unbeatable pace in coming quarters too.

Weekly Equity Picks: Buy HDFC, Dr Reddy's; Sell Hindustan Zinc
Way2wealth are recommending to 'buy' futures in HDFC and Dr Reddy's but to 'sell' futures in Hindustan Zinc. HDFC futures have reconfirmed the bullish pattern and prices are expected inch higher from current levels. Similarly for Dr Reddy's futures, positive diversion and double bottom formation in the daily RSI are supporting the bullish outlook. However for Hindustan Zinc futures, negative crossover in the MACD in the negative zone is quite a bearish sign and the same is visible in the daily MACD.

Firstcall India Equity are foreseeing the Indian pharmaceutical sector to grow at a CAGR of 20% over the next 5 years, and are hence taking the opportunity to recommend Abbott India after analysing the company's Q4FY15 financial results.

ICICI Prudential Balanced Advantage Fund - Hybrid fund to beat the volatility
Pankaaj Maalde finds the ICICI Prudential Balanced Advantage Fund as more investor friendly due to its flexible equity allocation. It is having an equity allocation range from 30% to 80% depending on market conditions. The remaining part is invested in debt or arbitrage to generate safer returns.
