All India June generation up 4.1% y-o-y

June 2010 all-India generation up 4.1% YoY, PLF down 177bp:
During June 2010, all-India generation was 64.6BUs (v/s 62.1BUs a year earlier), and overall PLF was down 177bp at 62.6% (v/s 64.3% a year earlier). Coal and lignite based power generation increased by 2.4% YoY to 44.7BUs (69% of total generation) at PLF of 74.5% (down 469bp YoY). Gas based generation increased 10.8% YoY to 8.4BUs (13% of total generation) and PLF stood at 68.6% (up by 285bp). Hydro power generation increased by 1.4% to 9.8BUs and nuclear power generation increased by 42% YoY to 1.8BUs.

For 1QFY11, all-India generation was up ~6% YoY at 199BUs and PLF was down 22bp YoY at 70%. PLF for gas-based projects and nuclear projects were up 716bp and 603bp YoY, respectively.
