The first trading day of the new financial year started off with a gap up opening with the Nifty opening at an all-time high. The focus now shifts towards RBI monetary policy meet scheduled on 06/04/2017 and on Q4 earnings. Demonetization had negligible side effect on our economy and the economy has bounced back very significantly which shows that the underlying resilience is very strong. Globally also we can see that all the major economies are bouncing back and the liquidity condition is also good. Lot of retail investors are shifting their focus from real estate assets to equity and thus enhancing the liquidity situation.

From a technical point of view, we expect Nifty to rise further from the current levels of 9250 to somewhere around 9400 to 9500 before seeing any meaningful correction or profit booking. Short term traders are recommended to book profit around that 9400 to 9500 level, but those fresh investors who are looking to enter the equity markets are advised to remain patient and wait for any correction towards 8900 to 8850 level.

Below given are some of our picks for the month of Apr 2017.

Buy at cmp(Rs.169.95) and further add on declines towards Rs.158 levels for sequential targets of Rs.188 and Rs.203.
