Indian equities are likely to open higher tracking positive SGX Nifty which was trading up by 18.5 points or 0.22% at 8,579 at 11:00 am Singapore time. Meanwhile, Asian stocks outside Japan rose for a sixth day on Monday following another record close on Wall Street on Friday. However, investors gave a muted reaction to the failed coup terror attempt in Turkey. Expectations that central banks around the world will introduce fresh stimulus for their economies boosted sentiments. While markets in Japan were closed for a holiday, Hang Seng posted slim gains and Taiwanese shares extended gains. However, Shanghai Composite fell as the data released on Monday morning showed average housing prices in China rose at a slower pace in June from a month earlier. New home prices in the mainland in June rose 0.71% in June from a month earlier, as against gains of 0.84% and 1.03% recorded in May and April month respectively. Back home, the focus of Dalal Street investors will be on the Q1 earning results of India Inc. with corporate biggies such as HUL, Ultratech, Wipro, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank scheduled to announce results this week. An improvement in earnings at India Inc. could signal a revival in business sentiment. Further, the start of monsoon session of Parliament will also be closely watched by the investors with optimism over the passage of the allimportant GST bill. The monsoon session of Parliament will commence from 18 July 2016 and concludes on 12 August 2016. Shares of Reliance Industries Ltd will remain in focus as the company on Friday posted stellar numbers with a rise of 18.1% in its consolidated net profit after taxes at Rs 7,113 crore in Q1FY17, as refining margin soared to eightyear high.
