Trust these Sectors for Diwali Bonus all year round

Diwali marks the beginning of a new year, or a new Samvat to be precise. Last Samvat gifted investors high returns in metal, oil & gas, auto and banking stocks, while it was a subdued show for stocks from IT, FMCG and consumer durables sectors. But the upcoming year promises to be loaded with Surprises. Analysts are expecting a revival in the economic growth with an improvement in the corporate earnings that will fuel the growth in the consumption-led sector. Investors who picked stock/sector-specific investments, like, in auto, NBFCs, media and private lenders were rewarded handsomely. At the index level, Nifty yielded about 11 per cent returns during the last Samvat.

GST and continued liberalization of FDI norms to attract capital and falling interest rates in the background of lower trending inflation course will highlight Indian equities as a preferential investment destination.

Going into the new Samvat, the present economic environment is helpful for the momentum to continue. Investors should pay attention on the stocks from sectors such as Banking, Paper, Auto, Travel & tourism and Infrastructure.

There is no doubt that it is going to be a long-term bull market. There is hope that corporate earnings will revive due to better monsoon. The festival season pickup has been good, and interest rates have been slashed at the borrowers’ level. Market is picking up, slow may be, yet picking up.

The Sectors in Limelight:

1. Travel & Tourism

2. Infrastructure

3. Banking

4. Automobile

5. Paper Industry
